Winnipeg's Best In Firearms Safety Training
1st Shot Firearms Safety Training offers instruction of the Canadian Firearms Safety Course, Canadian Restricted Firearms Safety Course, as well as challenging these tests on a regular basis in Winnipeg.
Instructional training is provided by Dennis Wiebe. Dennis is a professional and experienced instructor, who enjoys bringing knowledge to students in a fun and relaxed environment. He has over 10 years experience and enjoys teaching a variety of ages an appreciation and respect for the sport. He has an in depth knowledge of firearms, ammunition and the firearms industry. He enjoys hunting and is active in recreational shooting in both the target rifle and hand gun sports.
1st Shot Firearms Safety Training is available to areas outside Winnipeg and parts of Manitoba also for classes of 10 people and up to 20. Courses begin at 9 am and run until approximately 4 pm. All required testing (both written and practical) is conducted the same day of the course. All course materials are provided to the student.
The Canadian Firearms Safety Course is designed for both the novice with little to no experience as well as the seasoned hunter. Experienced firearms users may choose to challenge the exam. This is an option as the government requirement is to pass the tests.
1st Shot Firearms Safety Training also offers the Canadian Restricted Firearms Safety Course which is also a separate 1 day course. This course consists of learning and demonstrating safe use and handling of restricted firearms.
Both the Canadian Firearms Safety Course and Canadian Restricted Firearms Safety Course are designed to give the student basic firearms safety knowledge. Real de-activated firearms and ammunition are used in the courses to demonstrate safe handling practice.
The Canadian Firearms Safety Course (CFSC) is designed to give the student a basic knowledge of firearms safety. Passing the written and practical testing component of this course is the government requirement to attaining a Possession and Acquisition Licence.

The Canadian Restricted Firearms Safety Course is designed to give the student a basic knowledge of and introduction into the safe use and handling of restricted firearms. It also covers the various laws pertaining to the ownership of restricted firearms.
